Happy Monday Night!
What an incredible day of worship it was on Sunday! Pastor Beard kicked off our new unit on "Faith Gives Us Hope" with a lesson on The Example of Heroes from Hebrews 11:1-8, 13-16. Many of those that attended Sunday School shared a hero that they have looked up too over the years, and we know that the Lord has surrounded us with those heroes to keep us pressing forward. Through the lesson, Pastor Beard also reminded us that God has a promise for us and like Abraham, we may not see the promise. BUT that promise will come to pass.
This weeks THINK ABOUT IT:
Our faith shows the reality of what we hope for and evidence of things we cannot see. It gives substance to what is unseen. Has faith always been part of your story? If so, how? How has faith changed your present or past situation?
Minister Lewis brought the message The Desire for a New Start from Ezra 1:1-2, 5; 3:10-13. He reflected on a personal encounter that he had while at home working on a project and reminded us that sometimes, even though we put in the work, somethings just do not go our way. It is our fleshly desire when things don't work out to throw in the towel or give up, or settle for as is. But we must be brave enough or willing to start over, and like God was for those rebuilding the temple, GOD WILL BE THERE FOR US every step of the way.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning great is your faithfulness.“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
Lamentations 3: 22-25
