I hope the last month has found you blessed. I am here once again to apologize for my absence here on the website. I have been away from church and have missed some of the lessons and sermons to record. I encourage you all to join us at 9:45 each Sunday for Sunday School, with 11:00 service to follow!
This Sunday Pastor Beard taught a wonderful lesson on The Unforgettable Leader from Matthew 26, 17-30. As we studied the beginning of the end for Jesus' earthly ministry, the lesson begins with a celebration. By the end, he hung on an old wooden cross. We celebrate his coming and all that he accomplished while on earth.
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. --Matthew 26:29 (Key Verse)
THINK ABOUT IT: Families look forward to the holidays when a high degree of special care and dedication is on full display. Weeks of planning and preparation become the norms for most households, in an effort to ensure a joyous celebration. However, families often suffer the pain of squabbles and quarrels that infect the atmosphere of holiday gatherings. Unfortunately, this Passover was not immune to conflict.
Once again, I encourage you to join us, either in person, or online on Easter Sunday at 9:45 to study The Eternal Hope from Matthew 28:1-10. We will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ with a small meal.
Then Jesus said to them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. --Matthew 28:10
In worship service, Rev. Lewis brought a message from Matthew 11:28-30, titled The Invitation.
He highlights all of the teachings of Jesus thought the Book of Matthew leading up to Matthew 11 when Jesus asks the question, "To what should I compare this generation? Its like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to other children,"-Matt 11:16.
