Happy Sunday!

Minister Lewis brought a great Sunday School lesson on The Consequences of Giving Challenging Advice from Jeremiah 38: 14-23. He opened the lesson with a reminder of Psalm 1.

1. Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
2. but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
3. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
4. Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff the wind blows away.
5. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement, nor the sinners in assembly of the righteous
6. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
---Psalm 1---

In the lesson, Jeremiah was called to deliver an unfavorable but truthful word to Zedekiah, king of Judah on God's behalf. Because Jeremiah was committed to the Lord, he was imprisoned. Regardless of the message, he was determined to do what God had called him to do.

The world says the truth hurts, God says the truth HEALS.

Pastor Beard gave us a message on Love, from Proverbs 10.

Where sin is, grace abounds that much more. Where LOVE is the devil doesn't have a chance.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
